The Optical, a new monthly podcast hosted by Mark Boszko, takes listeners “on a journey back through the annuals of Cinefex Magazine.”
The podcast will feature the movies and topics covered in the early 1980s, and will talk with those involved with the productions.
The first The Optical podcast will cover the first two issues of Cinefex, which featured Star Trek: The Motion Picture. Daren Dochterman can be heard in this podcast, discussing his work as VFX Supervisor on the Director’s Edition of the movie.
Other topics on The Optical‘s first episode include Alien, and “what is an optical?” Other guests appearing on the podcast include Ron “Aalgar” Watt, Matt Rowbotham of the Post Atomic Horror podcast; and Tom Schmidt, Art Director and VFX artist.
