Perth Mint Announces Spock Coin

1 min read

Another commemorative Trek-themed silver coin has been announced by the Perth Mint, this one featuring Leonard Nimoy as Spock.

The Spock coin follows the recently-released Deep Space Nine coins in the Star Trek series of commemorative coins.

The 99.9% pure silver proof coin is officially licensed, and features Spock on the reverse side of the coin.

Only five thousand of the coins will be created, and each comes in a special Star Trek-themed presentation package and includes a numbered certificate.

The coin costs $104.55 AUS ($77.41 US) and can be ordered here.

  1. Gene Roddenberry created the IDIC pendant so that he could sell them from his mail-order business, and Leonard Nimoy did NOT appreciate being used as an advertising billboard for Roddenberry’s merchandise. So it’s unfortunate that the mint chose a picture of Spock wearing the thing for its commemorative coin.
