The Planetary Post Celebrates NASA’s Birthday

This month’s episode of The Planetary Post, hosted by Star Trek: Voyager‘s Robert Picardo, includes celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of NASA, Astronomy Day (October 13), and touring the Mount Wilson Observatory, located in the San Gabriel mountains outside of Los Angeles, California.

Telescope operator Geovanni Somoza gives fans a virtual tour of the observatory including a peek at the one hundred inch Hooker telescope.

Did you know that in 1931 Albert Einstein visited the observatory? Today, a bridge on which he stood (photo above) is named for him.
