Star Trek: Discovery Season Two Will Be Longer

Star Trek: Discovery fans should happy with the news that the season will now contain fourteen episodes instead of the original thirteen.

The news was revealed by Anson Mount during his appearance with William Shatner at the Christmas with the Captains event at the Star Trek: The Original Series Set Tour in Ticonderoga, New York this past weekend.

Production on Discovery will therefore continue up through December 21, taking it right up to the holiday weekend.

Mount also revealed that the core relationship that would be the focus of the second season would be between his Captain Pike and Sonequa Martin-Green‘s Michael Burnham.

Season Two of Star Trek: Discovery will begin airing on January 17.
