Yeoh: Section 31’s Georgiou Will Be Kinder

In a new interview with Newsweek, Michelle Yeoh spoke about her Section 31 spin-off series, in which she’ll be featured as Philippa Georgiou.
“Section 31 is in the works as we speak,” she said. “We will shoot Season Three of Discovery first, and then move on to Section 31. Section 31 will be more fun — less intense and more fun-driven. Visiting more planets. Going around rescuing people in our own way.”
There will be a change in the character in the new series, mainly due to Michael Burnham. Fans have seen some of this already. “Who is the real mother here? It’s almost like here you can see that Michael Burnham is trying her very best to instill the human side,” said Yeoh. “Not everything can be going in and shooting a missile into the planet. So she’s come around to understanding that if I don’t kill first and ask questions later, we can sit around and think about it a bit more.”
But don’t expect all to be sweetness and sunshine when it comes to Georgiou “With Section 31, the Emperor started to bloom again,” she said. “There’s this nicer, gentler side, but you never know when she’s going to switch around again.”
