Star Trek: Discovery This Autumn

1 min read

Monday, at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media & Telecom Conference, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves spoke about the debut of Star Trek: Discovery.

The latest Trek show will make its debut this year. Star Trek: Discovery will arrive “sometime later in the year,” said Moonves. “Late summer [or] early fall, we’re looking at…right now.”

Moonves stressed that those involved with the show want to turn out a good product. “It’s important to get it right,” he said. “Star Trek is the family jewels. We’re not going to rush it in a lot of post-production, but I’m very confident in what I’ve seen so far.

“We’re full into production. I’ve seen a little bit of it, and I’m very excited.

“There are millions and millions of Trekkies out there. We know for a fact that the other versions of Star Trek — there were seven other series, some of them were great and some of them were terrible — they all did really well on Netflix. That gave us great confidence that this was the right choice to put the full court press on All Access.”
